What is an open access link

Modified on Wed, 19 Apr 2023 at 11:22 AM

Summary: An open access link is the simplest way to provide access to your event for a broad audience. However, it does not allow for the collection of end-user data nor the restriction of the event's access.

Broader concept

An open-access link is a broad and simple way to share the event with an audience without collecting any specific user information, except for the public IP and operating system of their devices. This information allows the platform to geolocate the audience and gather insights on the devices and operating systems used to access the event. Additionally, the link includes a unique token that makes it difficult for uninvited individuals to access the event. Only those who possess the link will be able to access it.

How to create an open-access link (STEPS)

From the Event Management page, navigate to the Access Links section

Once there, click on the Add New Link button icon

Fill out the form as indicated below and click on Create

To obtain the link click anywhere on the link box to unfold its porperties

Right there, you'll find the link to the vancastvideo hosted container page, as well as an embed code link only for the video player. You can use the indicated icon to copy the link.
