The "Audience is allowed in" Switch

This article aims to provide clarity on the functionality of the "Audience is Allowed in" switch in conjunction with the "Preview Users list." Additionally, for on-demand content, it explains the purpose of the "Published" switch and how it operates.

What happens when you switch to "Audience is NOT allowed in"

This option works in conjunction with the Preview User list which can be created in Collaborators > Preview Users

When this switch is activated:

  • Only users included in the Preview User list will have access to the live video or on-demand content.
  • Other users, including those accessing through an "Open" link, will be directed to the Lobby page as if the event hasn't started yet. Instead of the video, they will see the Poster content.

The "Published" switch

This switch is only available for on-demand sessions and functions similarly to streaming a video to the streaming engines during a live event.

  • When the "Published" switch is turned off, nobody can access the content. If a user attempts to access it via a valid and enabled link, they will be directed to the Lobby page, as if the event hasn't been published or started yet. This feature is useful when editing the on-demand version of your event.
  • The "Published" switch also works in conjunction with an "expiration date" option. This automatically unpublishes your session at a specific date and time (00:00 AM).
Tip: Enable both switchers if you want your contet to be available to anyone through the event's access links
